HAO RAO

Zaledwie siedemnastoletni Hao Rao jest finalistą XVIII Międzynarodowego Konkursu Pianistycznego im. F. Chopina w Warszawie w 2021 roku, na którym otrzymał też wyróżnienie.  W finale Konkursu wykonał Pierwszy Koncert Chopina pod dyrekcją Andrzeja Boreyki.  Jego interpretacja zebrała pochwały w kraju i na arenie międzynarodowej.  Jan Popis, specjalny sprawozdawca muzyczny Konkursu stwierdził, że siedemnastolatek z Chin już od pierwszego etapu ujawnił swój naturalnie czarujący, wielki talent.

Hao urodził się w górskiej wiosce Jishou.  Naukę gry na fortepianie rozpoczął w wieku 4 lat i od razu ujawnił swój talent muzyczny.  Cztery lata później zaczął dojeżdżać do Kantonu, aby uczyć się pod kierunkiem dr Vivian Li w szkole dla dzieci przy Konserwatorium Muzycznym Xinghai.  Podróż w obie strony trwała 32 godziny.  Obecnie jest na trzecim roku tamtejszej szkoły dla starszych uczniów.

Mimo młodego wieku Hao Rao ma na swym koncie wiele nagród konkursowych. Są to pierwsze nagrody zdobyte w trzech najbardziej prestiżowych ogólnokrajowych konkursach pianistycznych (Steinwaya, Pearl River i Xinghai Cup) oraz główne nagrody, jakie otrzymał na liczących się konkursach międzynarodowych, m. in. Youth Gina Bachauer, E-Piano Junior, Krainev, Aarhus, Ettlingen, Beijing Chopin i Zhuhai Mozart.  Jest stypendystą trzyletniego, prestiżowego programu „Morningside Music Bridge”.

Występował w Azji, Europie i Ameryce Północnej z recitalami i jako kameralista, oraz z towarzyszeniem orkiestr symfonicznych, w tym z Orkiestrą Filharmonii Narodowej w Warszawie.  Współpracował ze znanymi dyrygentami chińskimi.

Poza grą na fortepianie Hao uwielbia operę, balet, śpiew, popkulturę, wykwintną kuchnię, a także jazdę rollercosterem.

At just seventeen years old, Hao Rao was a finalist and Honorable Mention at the 18^th Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw (2021), performing Chopin’s First Piano Concerto in the finals under the baton of Andrey Boreyko and drawing praise both internationally and domestically. Jan Popis, special music commentator of the Chopin Competition said that the 17-year-old Chinese boy had manifested his naturally charming, great talent since his first round.

Born in the mountainous village of Jishou and beginning his piano studies at the age of four, Hao’s talent was evident from the beginning, and at the age of eight, he began making 32-hour roundtrip commutes to Guangzhou for studies with Dr. Vivian Li at the Middle School of Xinghai Conservatory where he is currently enrolled as a third year high school student.

Though still young, Hao Rao has already amassed an impressive resume of competition awards including first prize at the three most prestigious Chinese national piano competitions – Steinway, Pearl River, and Xinghai Cup – as well as top prizes in major international competitions including the Youth Gina Bachauer, E-piano Junior, Krainev, Aarhus, Ettlingen, Beijing Chopin and Zhuhai Mozart. He is also a three-year full scholarship student of the highly exclusive Morningside Music Bridge Program.

His extensive performance experiences have taken him from Asia to Europe and North America in solo and chamber as well as concerto appearances with symphony orchestras, including the Warsaw Philharmonic.  He has collaborated with celebrated Chinese conductors.

Outside of piano, Hao loves opera, ballet, pop culture, gourmet, singing, as well as riding roller coaster.
